The Bellevue Thunderbird Little League mission is to:
- Develop the qualities of citizenship, discipline, character, and teamwork
- Develop the values of sportsmanship, competitiveness and fair play
- Promote fun and foster a love of the game
- Promote the learning and development of baseball/softball skills and challenge players to attain personal goals
- Promote safety awareness
- Encourage volunteerism, community involvement and community service
- Commit to serving ALL who sign up to play
All Board Members, officers, volunteers and parents shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary and the development of citizenship with a sense of belonging to and respecting their community is a priority.
Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Little League Baseball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
